Born in 1926, Norman Gilbert delights in the organisation of pattern and uses it, with decoration, to give depth and texture, energy and integrity to his original oil paintings.
Gilbert says of his work "I try to make each colour and shape enhance every other...so that intricately worked out patterns of powerful colours are entirely satisfactory and at peace".
